2021 The Summer@Potomac Experience

Summer@Potomac combines the excellence of The Potomac School with the energy and enchantment of the summer season. This school year, The Potomac School has successfully utilized health and safety protocols developed with the advice and guidance of medical experts and government agencies, which provided our students with on-campus learning. Using many of these policies, Summer@Potomac will welcome our campers back to campus for summer 2021! You may read the 2021 Health and Safety Protocols here.

Our 2021 offerings continue to provide a mix of active, creative, indoor, and outdoor experiences for campers ages 5 – 15. Program offerings and enrollment will be limited to ensure physical distancing.

Top Teachers & Counselors

Each of our Head Counselors meets or exceeds the Virginia Department of Social Services requirements for “Lead Teacher,” and many have more than 10 years of classroom teaching experience. College and high school students with strong mentoring skills serve as assistants in most of the camp groups. The quality of instruction and the low camper-to-staff ratio enable children to enjoy a challenging, energizing summer experience.

First-Class Facilities

The School’s 90-acre campus is located 3 miles from Washington, DC, in McLean, Virginia – just five minutes from the Chain Bridge. Our woods, streams, ponds and nature trails provide an ideal setting for exploration and discovery. Outdoor activities make use of the swimming pools, playgrounds and sports fields. Indoor activities take place in state-of-the-art classrooms, gyms, computer and science labs. There is no food service so campers bring a bag lunch each day.

Camp Bus Service

Our free, extensive bus and shuttle service makes Summer@Potomac accessible to children throughout the Washington metro area. All campers entering grades one and higher must use our free bus service to-and-from campus during camp hours due to Fairfax County traffic restrictions.
